Green Infrastructure and Smart Construction

This special track explores the intersection of smart materials and smart construction practices in building sustainable and resilient infrastructure. We invite papers on innovative materials such as self-healing concrete, adaptive composites, and low-carbon alternatives, as well as advanced construction methods including BIM, digital twins, automation, and 3D printing. Emphasis is placed on how these smart technologies enhance durability, safety, and climate resilience while reducing environmental impacts. By combining breakthroughs in materials science with cutting-edge construction processes, this track aims to highlight integrated solutions that redefine the future of infrastructure development.

Special Track Chair:
Assoc. Prof. Shabir Hussain, Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia

Dr. Shabir Hussain has BE and MSc in Civil Engineering, ME in Construction Management and PhD in Civil Engineering at his academic credentials. He has more than 17 years of teaching and research experience. He worked as a Lecturer at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan and currently he is working as a Senior Lecturer at Department of Engineering Management at Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also having additional portfolio of Associate Director of Teaching and learning center of the university. He is author of more than 150 publications of national and international repute. His research areas are; Project Management, Smart Materials, Smart Buildings, GIS, Automation in Construction and Transportation.
